Fables and Myths
Fables provide the opportunity of sharing in the cultural heritage found in Aesop's fables. Myths is an engaging collection of the classic stories of Greek and Roman mythology, retold in language that can be enjoyed by young readers with a wide range of linguistic abilities.
These resources are thematic units, designed to incorporate language, math and other curriculum skills into the study of the ants, sea life, and "the magnificent person - me!" themes. Written by teachers, the lessons provide unique opportunities to implement each of these elements. Students will be involved in several creative exercises, which the text outlines for the teacher in a cookbook fashion.
This series is for use with students in upper elementary grades and above who have not learned the concepts of time related to days, weeks, months, seasons and years. The book includes extensive learning objectives, a progress monitoring tool, and many activities to reinforce time concepts.
